Today is a national holiday in Norway, celebrating our Constitution, that was written and acknowledged by the Danish occupants on the 17th of May, 1814. Norway didn't get it's independence until June 1905, but during that century we did have our "own" Constitution, written by our "own" people. Next year Norwegians celebrate 100 years of independence. Not much for a country in todays' world!
